Professor Crichlow teaches and conducts research on international relations, U.S. foreign policy, political psychology, and Middle Eastern politics. His current research focuses on how group decision making dynamics and the beliefs and personality traits of political leaders affect foreign policy. He has published articles in the Journal of Conflict Resolution (twice), International Studies Quarterly, Cooperation and Conflict, and Political Psychology (twice). Professor Crichlow has also published chapters in such volumes as In Beliefs and Leadership in World Politics: Methods and Applications of Operational Code Analysis, edited by Mark Schafer and Stephen G. Walker and in The Great Presidential Triumvirate at Home and Abroad: Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln, edited by William D. Pederson and Frank J. Williams. Mark Schafer and he are currently writing a book titled Groupthink vs. High Quality Decision Making. Columbia University Press.
